Call for Submissions:
Our Portland Story is seeking creative submissions for a book that is part coffee-table book, part yearbook, and part insiders travel guide, but is all about Portland by Portlanders. Submissions must include a paragraph of text describing ONE thing you love about Portland that makes it unique. Topics could range from the smallest details of a hidden neighborhood, the philosophy of the people, a microbrew, a single person, a restaurant, or a particular event. We are looking for a wide range of submissions that capture many different aspects of the city in this place in time - weird, wacky, smart, touching, trendy, etc. Your submission must also include an image - a photograph, art piece, or anything that illustrates your text submission. Be bold, be creative, after all you are a Portlander.
Submissions are due October 17th, but if you need to submit past the deadline, please contact melissa@ourportlandstory.com.

Call for Designers:
Once all story submissions have been received and chosen, each entry will be granted a full page in the book where the author's image and text will be matched with other graphic elements to create a fully designed page. Our Portland Story is seeking designers to help with the design process. If you are chosen to work on the book as a designer, you may choose to design as many pages as you would like, working with Melissa from Our Portland Story on concept and direction. Each page would be completely visually unique. As a designer volunteering your services, you would receive full credit for your creation on the pages you designed, AND there will be a full designer credits section of the book. In the designer credits section, your name will be listed as well as your URL, preferred contact information, an image (sized approx 1"x1"), and a 40 word description.
