The SEGD Conference is the only annual conference designed for creatives working in experiential graphic design. Headquartered at the Seattle Westin, the three-day event is designed to inspire, with a combination of practical, hands-on workshops, social and networking events and blue-sky sessions with top design thought leaders.
The City
A signature element of the SEGD Conference, local tours, will get attendees out of the conference room and into the city to focus on recent high-profile experiential design projects. The tours on June 9 will include a young designers’ studio tour, the Washington State Convention Center, South Lake Union, the Waterfront, Capitol Hill and Pioneer Square. A slate of Premium (additional-cost) tours will also be available.
The Sessions
The 2016 SEGD Conference: Experience Seattle features general sessions as well as workshops and breakouts.
Local firms including Microsoft, Boeing, NBBJ, the Miller Hull Partnership, Belle & Wissell, Blink, Electric Coffin and ForeSeer will share their city and give the SEGD community a glimpse of urban placemaking, Seattle style with general sessions such as:

The Skinny
The conference will be preceded June 8 by the one-day SEGD Academic & Research Summit.
The SEGD Conference also provides numerous social and networking opportunities during the three-day event, including the official conference kick-off President’s Reception on Thursday, June 9, and a Seattle SEGD chapter bash on June 10. It’s a fun way to meet and connect with your colleagues and friends, old and new.
On Friday, June 10, SEGD’s industry partners—including fabricators, makers and material and service providers—will be showcased at the all-day NEXPO event. Handle new materials and technology and have all your fabrication questions answered by friendly staff. Wrap up the day with an exciting live auction.
The conference will conclude Saturday, June 11, with the SEGD Global Design Awards Celebration, announcing winners of SEGD’s annual competition recognizing excellence in experiential graphic design.
The Summary
The annual SEGD Conference is THE gathering place for the experiential graphic design community—experiential and environmental graphic designers, architects, landscape architects, interaction designers, branding and strategy experts, technology integrators, fabricators, makers and clients involved in shaping place and experience (AKA your people).
