Femme Council: Advice for Ladies Who Give a Sh*t & Aren’t Afraid to Ask
Do you have questions you'd like to ask your peers but it's never the right time or place? AIGA Portland's Women Lead initiative invites you to ask fellow female professionals your burning questions such as: Salaries, how to determine freelance rates, finding new clients, what it's like to work in-house vs. agency, and more.

Join AIGA Portland’s Women Lead team for International Women’s Day 2018!
We give a sh*t... you give a sh*t, and we've got Femmes for you to ASK! Take on 2018 like a boss and hang out with 16 accomplished Femmes who are kicking ass and taking names. Want career advice? Want to know how they launched their business? Want to talk to another professional mama about how they juggle it all? Want to make lasting connections with leading and emerging career level ladies?
During this two hour event, 16 amazing Femme Council mentors will be ready to share their hiccups, wins, inspiration and knowledge. In our speed-dating-style atmosphere, you’ll have the chance to chat with each and every one. As you soak it all in, we will provide custom Scout Books for you to jot down your ideas/thoughts/inspiration as you chat. You will also laugh your face off as these Femme’s are put on the spot with a rousing game of 'I Have, I Have Never' while our MC, comedian Grace Sadie Cejas, guides you through the night.
In addition, to up the ante of our Femme mentor one on one's, you'll be jumping into two mind-expanding activities. The AIGA Women Lead Committee welcomes trans, cis trans, and non-binary/gender-nonconforming peoples... and men!

Activities
STUCK TO STOKED with Marli Williams
Marli is an Activation Coach, Purpose Finder, & Inspiration Generator who helps people get out of their own damn way so they can go from stuck to stoked. During the session you will have an opportunity to visualize the best version of your future and determine your own one degree shift to help make that vision a reality.
FRAMING THE OPPORTUNITY with Tim May Empathy mapping is a deceptively simple framework and exercise that provides an initial understanding of what your audience is thinking. This exercise, lead by Creative Director Tim May of XPLANE, ties into subsequent steps that help a designer build needed context around their audience and will lead to better brainstorms and more defensible results.
* Registration is required. If for any reason you cannot attend, please let us know with at least 48 hour notice so we can release your spot. Admission is extremely limited, please respect this process. *By attending this event, you consent to having your picture taken and used by AIGA for promotional purposes.
We look forward to the opportunity to celebrate, cultivate, and connect with you!
