On November 16th, 2018 an Art Exhibit and Book Launch at NE Portland’s Cerimon House, will celebrate the work of painter Betty Chilstrom, who chronicled Portland, Oregon’s historic homes, architecture, and cityscapes from 1955 to 1995. The accompanying book, “Through Her Eyes,” was authored by her daughter, Robin, who will talk briefly at the event and share images from the book as well as significant paintings from the greater collection. This image-rich book tells the story of Betty’s life, her art, and how she came to create a stunning, painterly archive of Portland’s architectural legacy, before urban renewal swept through the city.
