Creative Mornings: Thomas Wester

At the October 2012 CreativeMornings/Portland, Thomas Wester of Second Story Interactive Studios discussed the interactive environments of cycloramas, eidophusikons, raree shows, Pepper’s ghostszoetropes, Kinetoscopes and so many more.

Ever curious, Wester is particularly inspired by historical endeavors. He’s not necessarily creating new stuff, but borrowing the cumulative knowledge of hundreds of years.

I can see that somebody has figured out that a funhouse mirror is fun or that a cathedral is really amazing and very immersive or that a cyclorama is a good idea and take all these different things and bring them together and create new combinations of them.
