For the creative folks at OVO (check out their video), branding is all about promises — promises made (what you say) and promises kept (what you do). OVO has been making and keeping promises for big Oregon clients like OMSI and others for the past ten years. So when Snyder Roofing – the oldest family owned roofing business in the state – came to them for a rebrand, OVO was ready to deliver. But how do you rebrand an old and trusted name, to express the evolution of the business, while both retaining their old following and growing their reach through an understanding of who they are today?

Snyder Roofing & Sheet Metal has been doing business in the Northwest for more than 90 years. Their reputation was built on roofing, but their breadth of services had grown considerably. Yet the general impression was that of “just a roofing company.” To gain market share, Snyder needed to reposition themselves in the minds of prospective and current customers. While the need was to describe what Snyder does, it was also a matter of articulating value through how and why.

Snyder engaged OVO to direct a rebranding effort targeted at updating customer perceptions, to drive another phase of growth, and to equip the organization with the tools to apply brand thinking throughout the organization. OVO’s work defined a truncated name — Snyder — that succeeded in retaining 90+ years of equity, while accommodating a broader capabilities set. OVO’s work resulted in a redefinition of the brand positioning, and a revitalization of the brand identity executed through a myriad of deliverables, at the heart of which was a completely reimagined web presence:

Three entire floors of the Pacific Center were gutted and reconfigured to Employees' assigned, though roomy, workspaces intermingle with group collaboration areas and small conference spaces. Exposed concrete and high ceilings give the office the now-standard creative and tech company feel, and a decked out community space feels more like a restaurant/living room combo than anything corporate.
